Beyond Academia with Ashley Ruba

Beyond Academia is a new Seminar Series by Mindful Science, aiming at showcasing alternative careers to the classic academic pathway. The idea is for people that decided to leave academia to talk about what motivated their decision, how they got to their current role and how it compares to their previous academic work.

About Ashley Ruba:

Ashley got her PhD in Psychology from the University of Washington where she worked on emotion perception. She then spent two years at the University of Wisconsin before leaving academia to become a User Experience (UX) Researcher. She now works at Meta designing and conducting research to guide the development of novel multi-sensory AR/VR experiences. She is also a vocal advocate for research careers outside of academia.
